I love the amazing contrast in this photo. It has the perfect blend light and dark. The light coming through the tree is a very nice effect. My favorite part of this photo is the sky. It is not a perfect blue, and fits the overall color scheme of the photo.
the sunlight in the center of the image acts as a control to eye movement. as the viewer looks into the scene, the view passes over the backlit fence, through the ice and branches, always moving toward the center. its a great visual tool, used particularly well in this case. v.v.n.
